Ukrainian Culinary Adventure with Anna Voloshyna
Hello,
With so much conflict and suffering in the world right now, it can be easy to feel overwhelmed by the headlines. I can’t imagine what it is like for those of you living in Israel, Iran, Palestine, Ukraine.. or with family members there. I know there are few people in our community with strong ties to Iran, Israel, Palestine and Ukraine. I think of you often.
One small but meaningful way we can respond is by continuing to learn about each other’s cultures, gathering around the table, and supporting communities that need it.
We have a special evening coming up that invites us to do exactly that.
A Culinary Adventure with Anna

On April 19, we are hosting a special online culinary event with Ukrainian-American chef, culinary storyteller, activist, and cookbook author Anna Voloshyna.
Anna was born and raised in southern Ukraine and has dedicated her work to sharing the rich culinary traditions of her homeland. Her new cookbook, UKRAÏNE releasing October 13th and now available for pre-order, celebrates the dishes, landscapes, and people of Ukraine.
During this live 90-minute cooking experience, Anna will guide us through making one of Ukraine’s most beloved dishes:
Ukrainian Cabbage Rolls (Anna’s way).
As we cook together, Anna will share the cultural traditions behind the dish and stories from her culinary journey.
This event also supports an important cause:
$10 from every ticket will be donated to Bake for Ukraine, Bake for Ukraine helps Ukrainian bakeries contribute to the security of the local food supply during the war.
Food has always been a powerful way to build understanding and connection. This evening is an invitation to share that spirit.
